Ode to surrealism

Influenced deeply by Surrealism from a young age, it remains my favorite genre of art and the foundation of much of my personal work. I was the kid with his head in the clouds, searching for shapes and hidden images in the sky. Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by hidden objects, double images, visual illusions, storytelling through symbolism, and physically impossible scenes. Those fascinations continue to project into the majority of my artwork today.

I want to inspire viewers to look deeper — to discover details, meanings, and connections that may not reveal themselves at first glance. To me, surrealism is freedom: the freedom to create anything imaginable and to blur the line between reality, imagination, and emotion.

Olivia in Oz

A surreal Portrait of Olivia in oz. The Scarecrow close to her heart on her shirt, the stuffed dog is Toto, the robot toy is the Tin Man, her cat is the Lion, she is wearing her mom’s Ruby Red Slippers and standing on a Yellow Brick Road rug, the Evil Witch is sitting on the window seal, the Good Witch is reflecting in the window, with the Poppy flowers in the vase are blending into the picture of Oz on the wall.

‍ ‍Deep Felt Textures

These one of a kind works have deep textures with deeper emotions. 3d to the touch with over an inch of dimension. Tilted “ Heart On Her Sleeve “ & “ Creative Anxiety “ a range of emotions are felt as if you cover one side of their face vs the other they look either happy or sad.
