The Ooey Gooey
A journey in progress exploring size and perspective.
Each painting pulls back from the last, revealing a larger world from a new angle and a new point of view. What first appears immense gradually becomes a small detail within a much larger landscape, inviting the viewer to reconsider scale, distance, and their place within the scene.
The animals don’t always stay where they were in the previous painting—and that’s intentional. Paintings take a long time to complete, and it seems the residents of this world have lives of their own. While one scene is being painted, someone wanders off, finds a new perch, follows a scent, or goes searching for the next sweet reward.
And that reward is usually The Ooey Gooey—the honey that somehow keeps appearing throughout the journey. Whether it’s being gathered, shared, stolen, or simply enjoyed, the ooey gooey seems to be the one thing all these creatures can agree on. It may even be the thread connecting this ever-expanding world.
